We had the priviledge of going on a missions trip to the Mattagami First Nation in Ontario Canada. It was amazing to step into a different culture and make friends with a people that will always hold a place in our hearts. The Christian natives were so loving and friendly. We made lots of friends with the children there through our Children's program and sport recreation. Our children played a significant part in the number of kids that came out. They made friends that we can hopefully keep in contact with (the nearest post office is an hour and a half away in the next town)! We also held evening services for people to attend. Pray for the Mattagami people. They need to find hope in Jesus! We are already signed up for next year...Lord willing!
Our verse was 2 Corinthians 3:18, "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
The Chief said we bring a peace to the community when we are there. He also said we demonstrate a way of life that he wishes for his people. May they see that Jesus is the Way and the Truth and the Life that we "reflect"!
